by Jeanie Davis Pullen

Before their first child was born, the author and her husband set out their priorities and goals for raising their children. Laid out here in clear and simple form, are short essays on various aspects of their childrearing. The short chapters are headed by the first sentence of each, clearly giving the topic without cumbersome titles. They are numbered for identification, but in the margin so the emphasis is on the story. The width of the book gives the text block some breathing space so readers feel they are in a conversation. This was to be the beginning of a series on other topics as well. The author was a highly-regarded educator of gifted young people.
