by Carei Thomas

Carei Thomas is a well-renowned musician in the Midwest, an improvisationist, composer, and pianist, with an emphasis in jazz, and an insatiable ability to play with language and music. He has compiled his legacy of compositions with some biographical material; but mostly he wants his compositions to be played and further improvised. His years-long recovering from Guillain-Barre Syndrome is part of his story, but he would say it taught him patience and reverence for life and for others. A mentor to many, his legacy lives on in students and his many contributions to communities.
