Gilbert's State Champions

by Tom Phillipich

The author's father, L.M. "Lindy" Phillipich, was a local professional photographer during the 1951 season when the team from small Gilbert High School incredulously won the Minnesota State Basketball Championship. These photos should be available for people to see, says the author. He interviewed as many of the team's players as he could and wrote a compelling narrative to go with the photos. Being basketball, the book needed to be tall; plus it had to show off the photos. A CD set with the original game broadcasts was packaged to go with the book. The school colors were, of course, black and orange.
